SEMEN DETECTION TEST KIT
INSTRUCTIONS
Using the supplied dropper extract a small
amount of the liquid from the the liquid
filled vial and place 3 to 4 drops of the
liquid onto the suspected stain and let the
liquid soak into the fabric.
Next
collect the biological material from the
garment using the provided cotton swab by
rubbing the swab on the wetted area for
about 30 seconds. To insure you have removed
the enough biological material from the
stained area you may want to also use the
other end of the cotton swab to do the same thing
on the same or different stained area of the
garment.
Now use sharp scissors to cut the ends of
the cotton swabs off and place them into the
EMPTY vial.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Using the same micro dropper
extract a small amount of the liquid from
the liquid filled test tube and place
exactly 20 drops onto the swab cuttings in
the test tube.
2. After you have added the 20 drops
of liquid to the swab cuttings close the top
of the test tube and shake vigorously for
60 seconds. Letting the Q-Tip ends soak in
the liquid for a few minutes after shaking
is a good idea too but is not mandatory.
3. After mixing now use the dropper to
remove a small amount of the mixed liquid
from the tube containing the swabs and place
exactly 5 drops into the round sample well
of the test cartridge, making sure to add
the drops slowly one after the other without
flooding or overfilling the sample well.
Don’t let the well go dry either. Just add
one drop after another until you have
put 5 drops into the cartridge. Then put any
remaining liquid in the dropper back into
the tube with the swab cuttings. This liquid
may also be saved and used at a later time
for either retesting and or potential DNA
extraction.
READING THE TEST RESULTS
Read
results at exactly 10 minutes. Positive
results are indicated by a red line under the
“T” and can typically be read in as early as
30 seconds. Negative results will take the
full 10 minutes to be read correctly.

Positive: A positive test result for
the presence of semen is indicated
by two red lines, one directly under
the “T” and one directly under “C.”
When positive the “T” or “positive”
line will appear first - before the
“C” line and will typically begin to
appear almost instantly |

Negative: If there is only one red
line under the “C” the test is negative and
no semen is present. |
